RBS 9002 (Zinc Stearate)
Zinc stearate is a “zinc soap” that is widely used industrially. In this context, soap is used in its formal sense, a metal “salt” of a fatty acid. It is a white solid that repels water. It is insoluble in polar solvents such as alcohol and ether but soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons when heated. It is the most powerful mould release agent among all metal soaps. It contains no electrolyte and has a hydrophobic effect. Its main application areas are the plastics and rubber industry, where it is used as a releasing agent and lubricant which can be easily incorporated.
Our Solutions & Benefits
- Zinc Stearate is available in both precipitated and fused forms in a wide variety of end use applications.
- Precipitated grades are used when a fine particle size and low residual mineral impurities are required.
- Paints, lacquers and industrial coatings are just a few of the uses in which precipitated Zinc Stearate may find application.
Industrial-Grade Lubricant & Release Agent
RBS 9002 – Zinc Stearate is a high-quality zinc soap widely used in the plastics and rubber industries. Its white, hydrophobic solid provides excellent lubrication and acts as the most powerful mold release agent among metal soaps. Easily incorporated into formulations, it ensures smooth processing, reduced sticking, and consistent product quality.
Hydrophobic Performance Solution
RBS 9002 Zinc Stearate offers exceptional water repellency and hydrophobic protection, making it ideal for industrial applications requiring clean release and reduced friction. Insoluble in polar solvents but compatible with heated aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, it provides reliable processing efficiency and superior end-product performance.
Efficient Processing & Mold Release
RBS 9002 is designed to enhance manufacturing efficiency in plastics and rubber processing. As a metal soap with no electrolytes, it delivers excellent lubrication, mold release, and surface finish, while its compatibility with a wide range of compounds allows for easy incorporation and uniform dispersion, ensuring consistent results across production batches.
