Metalic Stearate
Metallic stearate are chemically long chain fatty acid soap of metals like Calcium, Zinc, Barium, Aluminium and More. These are generally used as lubricants for PVC, in other application like food, pharmaceuticals they are widely used as anti cacking, anti tacking agent. Metallic stearates are recommended as a general lubricating additive in plastics processing; internal lubricating properties ease extrusion and mould flow of many plastics compounds. They are also used as a mould release agent, preventing preforms from delaminating, reducing adhesion of compounds to inside surfaces of moulds and increasing mould life. Metallic stearates give excellent resistance to colour degradation at elevated temperatures; particularly suitable as internal lubricants and mould release agents where higher than usual processing temperatures are encountered. Metallic stearates are recommended for maximum clarity in pigmented PVC and polystyrene compounds; also minimizes “plate-out” tendencies in PVC extrusion compounds. Metallic stearates Increase water repellence of concrete, cement, stucco washes, magnetite and fibreboard; imparts water resistance to asbestos, paper stocks, boxboard, cardboard, textiles and explosives used in mining.
RBS Polyadditves offers a wide range of metallic stearates derived from a variety of natural, renewable feed stocks which result in a broad array of end performance characteristics. Discrete control of chemical characteristics such as metal content, carbon chain distribution and free fatty acid, combined with precise control of particle size allow for designed solutions for many applications.

Plastics Processing & Lubrication
Metallic stearates, derived from long-chain fatty acids of metals like Calcium, Zinc, Barium, and Aluminium, are widely used as lubricants in PVC and other plastics processing. Their internal lubricating properties improve extrusion and mould flow, while their function as mould release agents prevents adhesion, reduces delamination, and extends mould life. RBS Polyadditives offers formulations tailored for high-temperature processing, maintaining colour stability and minimizing “plate-out” in pigmented PVC and polystyrene compounds.
Industrial & Construction Applications
Beyond plastics, metallic stearates provide water repellence and surface protection in construction materials such as concrete, cement, stucco, fibreboard, and asbestos, as well as in paper, textiles, and explosives used in mining. By enhancing durability and moisture resistance, these stearates help manufacturers achieve longer-lasting and higher-quality end products. Controlled chemical characteristics like metal content, carbon chain distribution, and particle size enable RBS Polyadditives to provide customised solutions for diverse industrial applications.
Food, Pharma & High-Performance Applications
In food and pharmaceutical applications, metallic stearates serve as effective anti-caking and anti-tacking agents, ensuring product stability and handling efficiency. Combined with their role in plastics and industrial materials, these stearates provide a versatile, high-performance additive across multiple industries. RBS Polyadditives’ range of stearates, sourced from renewable feedstocks, allows manufacturers to achieve precise performance characteristics, from clarity and colour retention in PVC to moisture resistance and processing efficiency in other applications.
